2012 is here. What does this year have in store, besides the Mayan-calculated end of the world? Some fantastic movies, potentially an unforgettable year poised to hit the big screen as well. Or so we can only hope, since you never know how some of these will turn out. But here we are, I've been waiting for this year a long time. Not only is it the arrival of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit (my #1 of the year), but there's other huge debuts, like the finale to Nolan's Batman series, and Ridley Scott's long-awaited return to sci-fi. I'm partial to science fiction, which is also why I think this year's selection looks particularly spectacular. ›››
